On July 5, 2025, the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University held the “Initiation Ceremony and Orientation for New Students” at the University Auditorium. The event, organized with support from both the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs teams, aimed to warmly welcome both Thai and international students while passing on important academic and cultural values.
The morning session began with the traditional Initiation Ceremony, marking the students’ formal entry into university life and fostering a respectful relationship between students and faculty. This was followed by two talks: “How to Study in the Faculty of Science” and “Student Life in the Faculty of Science”, which offered helpful guidance on academic expectations and adjusting to life as a science student at Chulalongkorn University.
In the afternoon, the SIS Center hosted a separate session for students in its international programs. New students were introduced to the center, received advice on how to navigate life as a science student, and had the opportunity to hear from current students who shared experiences and practical tips. Students were then divided by program to learn more about their curriculum structure and key academic information specific to their studies in the Faculty of Science.
SIS would like to express sincere thanks to the Faculty of Science, especially the Academic and Student Affairs teams, for organizing such a meaningful and well-prepared event. Appreciation is also extended to all faculty members and current students who contributed to creating a welcoming atmosphere for our newcomers.
We hope this orientation provided new students with a solid foundation for their academic journey in the Faculty of Science. Finally, we kindly remind all first-year students in SIS programs to attend the “Meet Your Advisor” session on July 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
