Overview
The Master of Science Program in Pulp, Paper, & Packaging Technology is a multidisciplinary program designed to cater to both Thai and international, students. Classes are conducted in Thai for local students and in English for international students. The program offers two pathways: the non-coursework option, which focuses on research and thesis without required coursework, and the coursework option, which includes 18 credits of classroom learning. Updated in 2023, the curriculum emphasizes the integration of science, technology, and engineering to advance pulp, paper, and packaging innovations, with a strong focus on environmentally friendly and sustainable development. Established in 2006, the program is led by expert faculty members from the Department of Imaging and Printing Technology, the Department of Chemical Technology, and the Department of Botany. With nearly two decades of experience, the program aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills and guide you toward a future built on sustainability, innovation, and self-reliance through science.

Admission
1 Non-Coursework Program (Focus on Research for Thesis)
(1) Applicants must be in their final year of study or have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or other equivalent fields of science and technology, with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Admission is subject to approval by the program’s administrative committee.
(2) Applicants must have an English proficiency test score of at least TOEFL 400, IELTS 3.0, or CU-TEP (Chulalongkorn University Test of English Proficiency) 30. (Applicants with a score greater than or equal to TOEFL 450, IELTS 4.0, or CU-TEP 45 are exempt from additional English courses.)
2 Coursework Program (Class Lectures and Thesis)
(1) Applicants must be in their final year of study or have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or other equivalent fields of science and technology. Graduates from other disciplines with at least one year of work experience in pulp, paper, and packaging technologies or related fields may also apply, subject to approval by the program’s administrative committee.
(2) Applicants must have an English proficiency test score of at least TOEFL 400, IELTS 3.0, or CU-TEP (Chulalongkorn University Test of English Proficiency) 30. (Applicants with a score greater than or equal to TOEFL 450, IELTS 4.0, or CU-TEP 45 are exempt from additional English courses.)
Two Application Periods Available:
- 1st Semester (Starts in August): Apply from February to April
- 2nd Semester (Starts in January): Apply from June to September
